I. As a firefighter, I am a member of an ancient and honorable profession. As long as I remain a member of this organization I will fulfill my moral, ethical and legal responsibilities to my peers and to those whose lives and property I am sworn to protect.

II. I recongnize as my respondsibility an obligation to conduct my personal and professional life with scrupulous to the trust and confidence which this relatioship implies. To this end:

1. I will keep myself in good physical condition at all times so that I will be able to preform my duties efficiency;

2. I will keep abreast of all technical and scientific developments within this profession and will constantly strive to improve my knowledge and abilities;

3. I will cooperate in improving this profession by the interchange of information and experiences with fellow members and by contributing to work of professional and educational organizations which are striving toward this objective;

4. I will base my professional pracitces on safe principles; accepting fully the inherent dangers of profession but never taking unnecessary risks;

5. I will never risk my life unless there is a greater probability of saving another life than of losing my own;

6. I will deal with my peers with true professional honest, avoiding unjustifiable or improper public ciriticism or comments agianst another member, but will confine such criticism to the proper authorities for constructive purposes;
